Britny Kish is the deputy director in the National Human Genome Research Institute’s (NHGRI) Office of Communications (OC). She joined NHGRI in 2015 as a program specialist. Britny manages the OC budget, procurement, exhibits program and event accessibility guidance. Britny has also worked with leadership to manage trans-NIH initiatives, including the rebranding of NHGRI’s visual and written communications and the re-design of genome.gov. In 2016, she collaborated with the Education and Community Involvement Branch to plan outreach events for the launch of the film “Ken Burns Presents the Gene: An Intimate Story.” Britny also served on the implementation planning group for the publication of NHGRI’s 2020 Strategic Plan. 

Britny co-leads the History of Genomics Program and manages event and program logistics, including leading the highly successful symposium, “The Meaning of Eugenics: Historical and Present-Day Discussions of Eugenics and Scientific Racism.”  

Britny is a graduate of the NIH Management Internship Program.
